Delta Charter High School (DCHS) is a charter high school located adjacent to the very successful New Jerusalem (elementary) Charter School in southern San Joaquin County. DCHS opened its doors to eighteen 9th-12th grade students on August 27, 2001. Since then, enrollment has increased to more than 500 and continues to grow. While technically dubbed by the State Board of Education as an "independent study" charter school, in actuality, DCHS is a break-the-mold hybrid blend between independent study, "not so traditional" site-based instruction, and community-and career-based learning.
