Cartooning Draw from two to four frames of a cartoon to tell a story. Either use balloon captions or captions under the pictures. Use in-class cartoon drawing guides to get ideas on what to draw. Follow each step of the cartoon guide sequence. As you draw a character, start to think about what the character might say or do.
After your characters are drawn, you will add color using the pastel wash techniques you learned during the last two projects. Remember, if you want an intense vivid color, you still want to add multiple pastel layers rather than one thick pasty layer that will be shinny, blotchy and ugly. After your washes are done try adding some dry brush detail. Homework: Repeat above instructions at home but do a new cartoon with text and use whatever colors you have.
